About
Narhex Australia Pty Ltd
Narhex Australia first released the Narhex skincare range in 1989.
John Majewski established Narhex Australia Pty Ltd in 1988. Narhex proceeded to develop dermatological products, capturing 5% of the market in its first year of operation, selling within Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
In 1990, John created the anti-viral HIV project in which he funded, to ensure the development of Australia's first protease inhibitor against HIV.
Five years later, in 1995, John initiated Australia's first human trials for this type of drug. There were good results in healthy volunteers at Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital, Melbourne.
During November to December 1998, John organised human trials on HIV positive patients, held in Brazil.
The trials confirmed (after 9 years) John's vision of creating Australia's first (and only) protease inhibitor to make it into human trials and showed excellent tolerability with no grade of any toxic effect in monotherapy, and was efficacious displaying drop in viral load and increase in CD4 count.
Narhex Life Sciences Limited was floated on the Sydney stock exchange ASX in January 2005.
Later in 2005, John scaled back his involvement with Narhex Life Sciences Limited to concentrate on rebuilding Narhex Australia Pty Ltd dermatological company in Australia, expanding into China in 2007.
Narhex Recognised by the Prime Minister
In 2004 John Howard Australian Prime Minister wrote a letter of support confirming the need to further advance the develop Narhex Life Sciences protease inhibitor DG 35 prodrug both in Australia and overseas countries.
